Wellness Center Workshops
The Wellness Center offers workshops that cover a variety of topics from smoking cessation to relaxation techniques. The workshops are available for faculty, staff and students. These programs, facilitated by trained professionals and educators, cover the latest information on stress, exercise, nutrition and much more.Topics Include:
• Healthy Living • Nutrition • Cardiovascular Exercise • Flexibility/Strength/Muscular Endurance • Substance Abuse • Sexually Transmitted Diseases • Stress Management • Time Management • Current Health Issues • Violence Issues • Relationships (communication skills)
Below are just a few of the workshops being offered in 2009:• Eating Well Through Tasting On premise program designed by the Bergen County Department of Health Services Office of Health Promotion, to educate individuals by exploring tasting of healthy food choices
• T’ia Chi Chih- Joy Through Movement On premise program offered by Bill Moore-Accredited T’ia Chi Chih® Instructor, to help individuals let stress go through movement.
• TIPS Training-(Training for Intervention Procedures) Program -On premise program, designed to give students the skills necessary, to intervene in situations where alcohol is being misused.
• Peer Education Training -On premise training, designed to provide students with proper techniques necessary, to be a vital support system to fellow students.
