Beginning in Fall 2011, students enrolled in 1 -2 -3 Connect, will participate in programs designed to enhance student engagement and success. These first-year students will be introduced to the college experience with the support of mentoring communities led by faculty and staff Success Advisors and Peer Mentors. Mentors will encourage students as they complete: Summer Connections or Winter Connections, one day of Orientation activities; Success 101, designed to teach students strategies for success; and Success Practicum Experience, a focus on career exploration, college transfer planning, and the development of leadership skills.
Vision Statement: By connecting with their individual interests, talents, and potential, students become engaged in the process of personal growth and improved learning, and acquire basic academic and life skills requisite for academic and professional success.
Program Goals:
- Develop a personalized support system to ease student's transition to college.
- Enhance Learning/Learning assistance in developmental and introductory courses.
- Expand infrastructure for serving developmental student's needs.
