The School of English is home to 60 full-time faculty and over 100 adjunct faculty who teach courses in three major departments: The American Language Program (for students whose native language is not English), The English Basic Skills Department, and The Composition and Literature Department. Eachdepartment is overseen by an Academic Department Chair who supervises scheduling of classes and development of curriculum in each program. The School of English offers over 450sections each semester, including courses in grammar, reading, writing, basic skills, and over 20 electives in literature. For resources about writing, students and faculty can use the BCC Online Writing Lab (OWL), the Writing Center, and the English Language Resource Center.
