I wish to work on the College Council as I feel I would be a great asset to Bergen Community College @ Hackensack. I am very interested in the well being and daily interactions of the campus as I feel it is good to be involved in Community Relations. I have had a wide scope of experience with BCC from student volunteer to employee as an ESL Writing instructor at Ciarco. |

I started as an Adjunct in 2005, accepting a full time position in 2009. Having served on the College Council for 2 years, I believe now, more than ever, BCC is facing serious hurdles. Particularly after the recent events.
Understanding different views and accepting compromise will be the key to bringing BCC to a much higher level for its students, faculty, administration, staff, and stakeholders. I firmly believe in this approach and will work toward its realization. |

I have served on the faculty for 28 years and believe that I have a good understanding of the college. I would like to be a part of helping to make improvements to Bergen. I welcome the opportunity to represent the viewpoints of this faculty on issues of college-wide importance. |

Greetings
I would like to run again for a second term as a College Council representative, particularly representing faculty constituents.
I served as College Council president for one year and only stepped down because of health issues. I have continued to serve on Council and believe the work of this body promotes a vibrant, engaged college community. For one thing, ours is the only elected body on campus that attempts to represent a true cross-section of the ENTIRE college community (including staff, faculty, students and administration).
I am starting my twelfth year at the school and have seen many very earnest folks working very hard at the College. And yet I know I see only a small fraction of the good work that makes BCC go. Our community is so large (and growing!) that open communication is always a concern. If elected I will continue to advocate for opportunities to enlarge the communication among staff, faculty, students and administration and especially between the Executive Council and the rest of the college community.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve you.

Walter Rothaug, of the Math. Dept., has been with the college for a long time. As the College Council is drawn from all segments of the college, he would like to see the Council act to supplement the Faculty Senate, particularly in non-academic areas. He feels there is a lot that can be accomplished here. |

I am running for another term on the College Council because I feel with my knowledge of the College and the 30+ years experience here, I would be beneficial to the employees and the College. The past two years that I have served on the Council, I feel we accomplished a lot but much more needs to be done to make this a College for all, a “unified” College.
Everyone who knows me knows they can come to me with their concerns and I will do whatever I can to get those concerns resolved whenever possible. I have always listened and if I couldn’t help, directed them to the person that could. With being part of the College Council, I am able to get the voice of the people and their concerns heard. I would like to continue to do just that. |

I have been at BCC for seven years both in Academics (World Languages & Philosophy/Religion) & now in Continuing Education. My years have afforded me various interactions with administration, faculty, and staff, on relative issues. Believing in the mission is an understatement; as it is designed to unify our college community, while focusing on the excellence of BCC and giving a voice to many. I believe the Council will allow me the opportunity to be part of the process that will assist in the College's new direction. |

I have been an educator for many years and am currently working in the college's library. I feel passionately about working with and for the students. Every college student needs encouragement and support from staff and faculty to achieve success in higher education and I believe that by serving on the College Council I can help reach that goal. |

I believe very strongly in our College mission statement, I appreciate the diversity of our student body. I am interested in working with the Council to further the success of Bergen’s students and to achieve and expand our goals in providing quality education to our students.
1. I have had the privilege to work for three of the key departments at Bergen: Registration, Administration, & Financial Aid
2. My background is Customer Service, I realize the importance of getting from point A (admissions) to point B (graduation day).
3. Students are our priority and every effort should be made to make the journey a positive one. |

Though I am a relative newcomer to Bergen Community College, I have worked for community colleges for over fifteen years. I am a true believer in the mission of this college, and the vibrant work that the college does in partnership with our talented and diverse student body. I look forward to working on the College Council as an extension of my commitment to the role of the community college in lifelong learning and to support the college community in the vital task of governance. |

I have been employed by the Bergen Community College/Ciarco Learning Center in Hackensack for 10 years, in the capacity of the Office Services Supervisor for the Information and Registration Department. Over the past years, I have always participated in activities that moved toward the betterment of the College community as a whole. I was appointed to the College Council in February 2011 to fill a vacancy and would now like to continue to serve as an elected member. As the College expands, and many changes take place, I believe the Council serves an important role in helping to uphold the mission of the institution. In serving on the Council, my interest lies in the area of policies and procedures. I encourage your support in the upcoming election. |

With a job that interacts daily with administrators, staff and faculty, I have a unique vantage point of how issues relate at many levels. Serving on the College Council affords me the opportunity to share insight and to vote on issues that have major impact to the entire college. As issues are brought to the council, I will have broader understanding of the changes that are to be implemented in scheduling around the campus. |

I have served BCC as the Workforce Development Counselor in Continuing Education, and currently transferred to the new Northern New Jersey Health Professions Pathway Consortium grant as the Site Coordinator. My passion is to assist job seekers along their academic and employment pathway, in order to achieve satisfying and sustainable employment. As a College Council person I can serve the College by becoming part of a team who addresses timely issues with relevant solutions, establishing a better Bergen in which to learn and work. |

I have been on College Council from the beginning, and have seen the role of College Council played. I would like to run for another term on College Council because I would like to continue to contribute to making the Council an effective forum and a bridge among the college community. |
