Goals

The purpose of the Center for Suburban Criminal Justice is to strengthen the capacity of the suburban criminaljustice system through “best practices” research and professional development in context of the values and changing nature of their communities.Together with its partners, the Center seeks to link local, state, and federal initiatives as they relate to the suburbs, promote research on criminal justice, and enhance public safety. At the same time, the Center works to incorporate this knowledge into the curricula of college criminal justice courses. The Center also has a program of citizen education since the “community” is an essential partner in effective criminal justice programs.
