Carol Miele
Dean, Division of English

B.A., Barnard College; M.A., Middlebury College; M.A.T., Fairleigh Dickinson University; Ed.D., Teachers College, Columbia University.

For 26 years, Dr. Miele was a teacher in the division of Arts and Humanities at the College. She taught French, English as a Second Language (ESL), and English Composition. She became a full professor in 1998 and head of the Department of English in 2004. In 2008, she assumed the position of Dean of the Division of English. Dr. Miele has worked on many projects and boards, including the Bergen Community College Foundation Board of Directors and the College�s Middle States Self-Study Steering Committee. She has also secured a number of grants for the education of language minority students. She was a project director for the English Language Resource Center and a founding member of the Center for the Study of Intercultural Understanding.
