Senior Accounting Assistant
The Senior Accounting Assistant will provide assistance and administrative support to the Sr. Financial Officer and the Director of Financial Operations and Student Assistance in the following functions: general and subsidiary ledgers, fixed assets, cash receipts and accounts receivable, grants, cash disbursements (expenditures, student refunds, etc.) and accounts payable and payroll. Duties include preparing bank reconciliations, analyzing general ledger accounts, invoicing for use of certain College facilities, distributing payroll checks to employees and students, and other duties as assigned.
Required: Associates degree in Business or Accounting with at least three years related work experience in multiple areas of Accounting (A/P, A/R, General Accounting, Payroll or Fixed Assets) or five years experience as a full charge Bookkeeper or Staff Accountant. Must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills; Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word. Must be a team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as work with a diverse student and employee population.
