 E-mail at Bergen Community College is considered a tool for business purposes. Users of Bergen Community College e-mail have a responsibility to use this resource in an efficient, effective, ethical, and lawful manner. In general, email communications should follow the same standards expected in written business communications and public meetings. This is applicable not only to faculty, staff, and associates having valid Bergen Community College e-mail accounts, but to any and all electronic communications with those e-mail accounts.
E-Mail For Faculty and Staff
E-mail accounts are provided to all members of the College community whose job responsibilities include regular computer access.
If you are a Bergen Community College employee (faculty or staff) and you do not yet have a bergen.edu e-mail address, you may request one by contacting the Help Desk.
Bergen Community College e-mail accountholders may access their e-mail off campus through the College's Outlook Web Access gateway at http://mail.bergen.edu.
E-Mail for Students
As of September 1, 2010, all Bergen Community College students are required to claim a Bergen.edu e-mail address. All e-mail communications between Bergen Community College and the student will be conducted solely through their Bergen-specific e-mail address.
The new student e-mail address system provides for:
- An official college e-mail for communication with professors.
- Receipt of payment notifications, campus alerts, and other important information
- An interactive calendar
- Web-based storage for files, and
- You can merge your regular e-mail account (Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) with Bergen's for ease of use and to have all your e-mail communications in one place
