The English Department is the largest department in Bergen Community College. It is home to 60 full-time faculty and over 100 adjunct faculty who teach courses in three major programs: The American Language Program (for students whose native language is not English), The English Basic Skills Program, and The Composition and Literature Program. Each program is overseen by a Program Coordinator who supervises scheduling of classes and development of curriculum in each program. The English Department offers over 450 sections each semester, including courses in grammar, reading, writing, basic skills, and over 20 electives in literature. Detailed information about each Program is linked below.
For resources about writing, students and faculty can use the BCC Online Writing Lab (OWL), the Writing Center, and the English Language Resource Center.

The English Department is proud to announce The English Department Resource Envelope (EDRE) -- a resource for faculty teaching in the English Department, especially adjuncts. |
