BI 618 Effective Business Writing         (6 Sessions)      $115

Learn how to supply basic journalism techniques to business writing, from correspondence to memos to reports. Simple step-by-step techniques will boost your confidence and improve the quality of all your writing tasks. Learn how to gather necessary information, organize your thoughts, target your correspondence, and check your work. You will learn to write better, quicker and clearer.

CE 896  Getting Published for Writers  (6 sessions)           $155

So you’ve written a magazine article, short story, or perhaps your memoir.  Now you want to get it published.  But you don’t know how to approach an editor?  Learn from a pro all the tricks of the trade.  Topics will include choosing the right outlet, writing a query letter, submitting the manuscript, and understanding writer’s contracts and copyright.

SD 724   Business Communications-When English

                  is a Second Language      (10 sessions)                           $245

This course concentrates on communicating more effectively in the business environment.  You will study grammar, writing, reading comprehension, vocabulary building, and oral presentations.  Each class involves practice and prepares students for the fundamentals of letter writing, memo writing, and organized presentations in American English.  The goal of this course is to build confidence and gain skills.

SD 636 Word Studies              (10 Sessions)    $215

Become more fluent and confident in English by building vocabulary and spelling skills through reading, writing, and various word exercises. Reading practices will develop vocabulary, improve comprehension, and increase speech. Vocabulary will be further enhanced by learning word building and connections, as well as definitions in context. Students practice advanced conversation and learn phrases, pronunciation, as well as alternate foreign differences and usage. Writing skills will be developed in conjunction with the reading lessons.

CE 891 Poetry Writing Workshop (6sessions)   $125.

This workshop is an introduction to the wonderful world of poetry.  Students will have a clear understanding

of metaphor, imagery,, sound rhythm and form.  Through a series of lessons, you wil learn the interaction of these essential tools.
