First Multicamera Shoot in the New Production Studio
The first installment of the second season of Inside Bergen with Bergen County Executive Dennis McNeirney was taped in February. The County Executive was impressed with the new studio and the facilities, having taped last season in the old studio gave him an even greater appreciation for the new one.

 

Media Technologies Welcomes New Manager
You may have seen a new face on campus in the last few weeks.  Mr. Brian Hemstreet has joined Bergen Community College as our new Manager, Media Technologies.  Brian is a television producer and filmmaker, and has over twenty years experience working in higher education  as well as being an actrive musician. He earned his B.A. from the College of NJ, and his M.A. from King’s College London. Brian is located in W-119A and can be reached on extension 7065.

 

 

Media Technologies staff prepares for move to West hall

 

West Hall – the Arts and Communications building is slated to open in January 2007. The Media Technologies offices will be moving to this new facility as well as two television studios, the radio studio and a video conferencing center capable of connecting to institutions throughout the world. Media Technologies staff are in the design phase for what promises to be one of the most up-to-date state of the art facilities in the state.

 

Media Technologies joins ICIA

The Media Technologies unit has recently become a member of ICIA – the International Communications Industries Association. ICIA sponsors InfoComm, the world’s largest audio visual trade show and “provides education activities and information services to its worldwide membership and the audiovisual communications industry, enhancing members' ability to conduct business successfully, profitably and competently.”

 

Science Lecture Halls added to SMART classroom inventory

Rooms S-132, S-134, S-138 are now equipped as SMART classrooms. These rooms have visual presenters, DVD/VHS players, and PCs connected to a state-of-the-art Extron switching system designed to easily incorporate media materials into the teaching process. Faculty members who teach in the science wing lecture halls should call ext. 7132 to arrange for an orientation to the equipment.
