Creating and Downloading a WebCT Backup

The steps to create a backup and downloading file to your computer are as follows;

  1.  From the Build or Teach tab, click “Manage Course
  2. Click “Backup
  3. Click “Backup Course
  4. If there is an indication that you have reached the quota, Click “Delete Oldest Backup
  5. Click “Proceed
  6. Click “OK
  7. The status will either indicate Completed or In the queue. If “in the queue” is displayed, give it a few minutes for the backup to be completed. Refresh the screen to see when the status has changed. 

To download

  1. Locate the backup
  2. Click on the action menu and click Save as File
  3. Ensure that the Tracking Date box is checked.
  4. Choose “My Files
  5. Click “OK
  6. Under the Build tab, click “File Manager
  7. Click “My Files
  8. Locate the backup file.
  9. Using the action menu, click “Download
  10. Click “Save
  11. Choose the area where you would like to save the backup file
  12. Click “Save
