Microsoft Office 2003 Courses

MS Office:  2003 or 2007?

What version of MS Office is right for you?

Courses are clearly marked as to what version of Microsoft Office is used in that class, 2003 or 2007. Be sure to register for a class using the correct version for you. Choose the version that is on the computer you plan to use. If you are preparing for a new job, find out what version the company is using.

Learn to Create, Edit, Save, and Print documents. Use Spell Check, Tabs, Fonts, Indents, and Bullets. Set Margins, Page Breaks, and create Page Numbers, Envelopes, and Mailing Labels.

Prerequisite:  Intro to PC & Windows or equivalent experience.

Review Excel basics and expand your knowledge of formula writing and basic functions: Sum, Average, If, Countif, Sumif and more. Manage sheets and learn to create formulas across multiple sheets. Work efficiently by splitting and freezing windows; hiding columns; creating range names, comments and passwords. Prerequisite:  Excel I plus experience working with Excel.

Macros are recordings of keystrokes and mouse actions that can be used to automate repetitive tasks. Macros can be stored and played back at any time. Add buttons to a toolbar for easy playback of general macros that can be used in any workbook. Create buttons within a sheet for playback of macros unique to that book. Prerequisite:  Excel II or Charting and Database.

Create Megaformulas and Array Formulas. Learn more advanced functions: Match, Index, Rank, Trend and Frequency. Chart a frequency distribution. Create Combo Boxes and Spinners.

Prerequisite:  Excel II or equivalent experience.

Learn to create, edit and print database tables. Set Properties, Sort and Filter data. Create queries for text, number, date and Yes/No data. Use calculations in queries. Create a Data Entry Form. Create Reports using Wizards; Group data in Reports and set up Mailing Labels.

Prerequisite:  Intro to PC & Windows or equivalent experience.

To learn the full range of skills needed to successfully create a database, it is recommended that students take level II immediately following Access 2003 - Level I.

Design complex databases with multiple tables. Use more advanced table properties and OLE and Memo data type fields. Apply Referential Integrity to table relationships. Create Autolookups for Queries and Forms. Create advanced Queries with calculations, conditional calculations, Crosstabs and the Totals tool. Prerequisite:  Access I or comparable experience.
