Welcome to the Virtual Home of the Center for Institutional Effectiveness and Research!
The Center for Institutional Effectiveness and Research (The Center) has resulted from the merging of the Center for Institutional Effectiveness and the Office of Research and Planning. It is a relatively new initiative at the College, and reports to the Executive Vice President. Its mission is to promote institutional policies, practices, and activities which enhance institutional effectiveness, to foster on campus a culture that values inquiry, evidence, and collaboration, and to support college-wide decision-making and planning initiatives by collecting, analyzing and reporting information about the College.
While the Center's activities, initiatives, and projects will vary over time in response to changing needs, its initial emphasis will be upon Strategic Planning, Institutional Renewal Activities, Assessment, and Institutional Research.
Specific objectives of the Center are to:
- Offer educational and training activities in support of the Center's mission.
- Identify appropriate measures of institutional effectiveness by collaborating with College
stakeholders.
- Identify, foster, and facilitate inter-departmental collaboration.
- Develop an overall framework for assessment at the college.
- Coordinate and allocate resources for planning, assessment, and institutional renewal
activities.
- Report regularly to the campus community on the progress and status of planning and
assessment activities on campus.
- Coordinate and monitor the ongoing planning process to facilitate the achievement of institutional mission and goals.
- Provide information and analysis relating to the College for purposes of informing college decision makers, the college community and appropriate external agencies.
