About CIT
The Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) is a department in the division of Technology, Information Services and Institutional Effectiveness, reporting to the Director of Technologies. CIT relies on the work of faculty and staff at Bergen who provide services to the college under the CIT banner and it's concept of "Faculty Empowering Faculty."
The mission of the CIT is to empower faculty to continuously improve student learning outcomes through the appropriate and productive use of technology. CIT engages faculty as leaders, mentors, teachers, support teams, and participants in their own professional development
Core Staff
The official staff is composed of an Office Supervisor, a Technical Assistant, and an Instructional Designer, all of whom report to the Coordinator of the unit.
Faculty Support Team
Faculty are awarded release time to work with the CIT. Their roles vary, but overall, faculty are assisting other faculty by running workshops, providing one-on-one support or heading up special projects. The Faculty Support Team is essential to the existence and the reach of CIT.
Advisory Board
The role of the CIT Advisory Committee is to advise the Director of Technologies on the goals, direction, and desired outcomes of the use of instructional technology at Bergen Community College (BCC). The advisory committee recommends policies, procedures, and resource allocations for the effective and efficient deployment of instructional technology at BCC. It also helps ensure the appropriate delineation of support unit roles in providing seamless and integrated instructional technology services.
