Vision Statement

The Educational Opportunity Fund Program at Bergen Community College, provides a support system unparalleled in it's provision of services to meet the needs of its program participants. It fosters the development of leadership skills to produce future leaders who will fulfill the needs of their society at every level. It will draw on the necessary resources to foster student persistence to graduation and reflect the diversity of the state.

Mission

The Educational Opportunity Fund Program at Bergen Community College caters to students from economically and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds who are highly motivated to achieve academically however lack the preparation crucial to their success in college. Through the support and assistance provided by the program, EOF students are given the components needed to aid in their persistence to graduation.  These include quality academic support, tutoring services, counseling and financial aid assistance. In addition, the program inculcates strong leadership skills and instills a sense of community in its participants as well as facilitates their involvement in meaningful extracurricular activities on a college wide basis.  The result is an individual totally prepared for the community at large, including the workforce.
