Primary Self Defense Course -- Spring 2006

The Primary Self Defense Course gave BCC students a realistic, viable solution to a seriously violent and grave situation.  According to Damian Ross (www.ZenShin.info), instructor, "Students were taught to develop a plan.  Whether in their home or on the road, students learned how to prepare themselves for an assault.  They also learned hand-to-hand combat methods to ensure their greatest percentage of survivability and escape.  Listen, you're not going to be a lethal weapon in a handful of lessons, but you will become a tougher target by the end of the course."

"It's a lot of commonsense stuff.  It's all about training themselves to develop some habits that will save their lives.  Once they start to develop that way of thinking, they can apply that to every situation.  Instead of focusing on situation-specific defense scenarios, the students are given a protocol to follow and we train them to follow this protocol under stress."  -- Roger Jones, Instructor
