MEDICAL PLANS

Bergen Community College provides their employees and eligible dependents, at no cost, several health care options  shown below two months from their employment start date.  Any exceptions are noted below.

• NJ Direct 10/15 PPO (Preferred Provider Organization)
  
  Both plans are administered for the state by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. The employees may choose doctors in and out of the network. It is a nationwide plan and you do not need to select a Primary Care Physician (PCP).

• Aetna HMO (Health Maintenance Organization)
• Cigna Healthcare HMO (Health Maintenance Organization)
  
  
  Both Aetna HMO and Cigna HMO have expanded networks that provide services nationwide.  You must select a Primary Care Physician (PCP) contracted by the HMO.  This physician will provide referrals when you need a specialist.  There are no out of network benefits.

• Delta Dental PPO plus Premier of New Jersey (Coverage for employee plus one dependent)
  
  
  Over 179,000 participating dental offices nationwide participate with the national Delta Dental system, although you may choose any fully licensed dentist to render necessary services. Maximum benefit may be derived by utilizing the services of a participating dentist. Coverage begins on the first day of the month preceding two full months of employment.

• United Healthcare Vision(formally called Spectera) (Coverage for employee and dependents)
  
  
  Coverage begins on the first day of the month preceding two full months of employment. Spectera provides affordable, quality vision care, nationwide.

 OTHER BENEFITS

• Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  
  
  Flexible Spending Accounts are a convienient, before-tax way to pay for eligible out-of-pocket expenses, as well as dependent care expenses.

• Horizon Wellness Discount
  
  As a member of NJ Direct 10 or 15 you are eligible for wellness discounts including weight managemnet, Gym Memberships and other healthy alternative health care.

•  Magellan Employee Assistance Program (employees and eligible dependents)
  
  Magellan is contracted by Bergen Community College to provide professional consultation to Bergen Community College employees and their eligible dependents in the areas of stress management, family issues, child/elder care, dependency and other matters.
