Wildfire Blazing Bluegrass

Formed in 1990, Wildfire moved rapidly to the top of the ranks in bluegrass music, and was twice nominated as the International Bluegrass Music Association’s "Emerging Artist of the Year." Featuring the talents of Phil Leadbetter, Robert Hale, Darrell Webb, Curt Chapman, and Barry Crabtree, Wildfire is famous for its “no-holding-back” style. These headliners of many festivals across the U.S., Canada, and Europe have been in the top ten on the National Bluegrass Chart and are fan favorites on the bluegrass circuit. The band's unique sound and superb song selection perfectly compliments their potent and explosive talents.

The Mighty Sparrow Caribbean Fest

Recognized as the unrivaled “King of the Calypso World,” Slinger Francisco, better known as “The Mighty Sparrow,” has entertained audiences around the globe. From humble beginnings in Grenada where he sang in schools and choirs, he emerged at 20 with his first big hit. Now, with countless hits and over 70 albums and CDs to his credit, the Mighty Sparrow has proved himself over and over, sharing his music, his message, and his commentary on world issues and Caribbean life. A new release of his early music by the prestigious Smithsonian Folkways project is particularly noteworthy and in high demand. Nai-Ni Chen Dance Co. The Art of Asian Dance
Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in Ciccone Theatre

With dazzling costumes and fantastic props, the dancers bring youngsters on a journey to explore the culture of one of the most ancient nations in the world – China. Aided by narration, the audience learns the history, geography and the basic practice of traditional dance, with movement demonstrations. Dances include: Long Spear Dance; Fan Dance; Tai Ping Drum Dance; and Rock Paper Scissors. A few children will be invited on stage to learn how to dance with silk ribbons. Artistic Director Nai-Ni Chen has received choreographer’s fellowship awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. An Asian Heritage Performance. | |
