Network Storage Policies

Account Deletion Process

When OIT is notified that an employee has permanently left Bergen Community College, the Help Desk will issue tickets to Network Services, the Center for Instructional Technology and the Colleague Support Group for the following accounts:

Active Directory and Individual Network Storage Accounts Deletion.

  • Employee email access will be deactivated.  Concurrently, Network Services will send an email message to the supervisor with notification that the email account will be maintained for 30 days after which the email account and all associated email messages will be deleted on a date specified.

  • Employee network access will be deactivated.  Concurrently, Network Services will send an email message to the supervisor with notification that the “My Documents” account will be maintained for 30 days on the network storage device after which the network account, the “My Documents” folder associated with that account and all associated documents therein will be deleted on a date specified.

Telecommunications Account Deletion.

  • The telephone account will be deleted and the employee removed from the College Telephone Directory.

WebCT Account Deletion.

  • If a faculty member leaves the College, CIT will remove the faculty member from the active list.  All courses associated with that faculty member will be backed up and the account will be deleted.

Colleague Account Deletion.

  • The Colleague account will be deleted. .
