Rector of Leading Dominican Republic University to visit Bergen Community College November 4
Who: Dr. Franklin Garcia Fermin, rector of the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo, and nine of the University’s professors will visit Bergen Community College. Dr. Garcia Fermin is the rector of the oldest and largest institution of higher education in Latin America, with 179,000 students.
What: Dr. Garcia Fermin will meet with Dr. G. Jeremiah Ryan, president of Bergen Community College, and tour the College’s main campus in Paramus. He will also discuss possible transfer agreement opportunities with members of the College’s Latin American Student Association.
When: Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 1 p.m.
Why: With Bergen Community College students representing more than 138 countries of citizenship, more than 30 percent of the College’s students are Hispanic. The College would like to further its connections with the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo to establish transfer agreements.
