SignStage on Tour

Saturday, may 7, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. - Ciccone Theatre

This adaptation by SignStage on Tour is based on the classic tales of Robin Hood, who, with his merry men of Sherwood Forest, helped save 13th-century England from royal treachery, while endearing himself to his countrymen by his legendary acts of “stealing from the rich and giving to the poor.” Could the heroic adventures of Robin Hood be temporarily derailed when his own heart is stolen by the lovely Maid Marion? Find out as this captivating production steals your heart. The entire performance is presented in both American Sign Language and spoken English by deaf and hearing performers in a magical blend of two languages. You’ll SEE things you’ve never HEARD! KapelyeKapelye -
A Klezmer Fest

Sunday, May 22, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. - Ciccone Theatre

Kapelye (Yiddish for band) presents klezmer music, the traditional music of the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe, influenced by early 20th-century Dixieland, swing, and jazz. Numerous appearances on radio and film, including The Chosen, with Rod Steiger, and extensive tours of America and Europe have earned Kapelye the title “The First Ambassadors of Klezmer,” popularizing the music among Jews and non-Jews alike. Kapelye's authentic sound, energy, and humor make their performances enjoyable for all who love rich and rhythmic music.
