Robin & Linda Williams and Their Fine Group Friday, November 19, 2004, at 7:30 p.m. - Ciccone Theatre Tickets: $20; $18 -students & seniors (65+); $15 - BCC
“They don’t play at being country - they are country,” says No Depression magazine. What better way to set the mood for Thanksgiving than with music that celebrates all of America - past and present. For three decades, Robin & Linda Williams have made it their mission to perform the music they love, “a robust blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country that combines wryly observant lyrics with a wide-ranging melodicism.” The list of artists who have covered their original songs include the greatest: Emmylou Harris, George Hamilton IV, Tim & Mollie O'Brien, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Kathy Mattea. Robin & Linda have appeared on “The Grand Old Opry,” “Austin City Limits,” “Music City Tonight,” “Mountain Stage” and they continue as frequent guests on National Public Radio’s “A Prairie Home Companion.” Robin & Linda’s 2004 CD on Red House Records, “Deeper Waters,” is nothing short of a masterpiece. Stay after the performance for a Q & A with Robin and Linda. This engagement of Robin & Linda Williams and Their Fine Group, is a MidAtlantic Arts Foundation Tour, funded by the Foundation in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts Regional Touring Program. | |
