Each year approximately 12,000 students of all ages enroll at Bergen Community College on a part-time or full-time basis. The college offers three types of degree programs in more than 75 fields of study. Students may earn an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, or Associate in Applied Science degree. The college also offers one-year certificate programs and certificate of achievements.

BCC boasts comprehensive facilities that support its academic programs. There are well-equipped labs in the natural sciences, health sciences, and technologies. Specialized instructional facilities include a greenhouse, TV studio, fitness center, robotics lab, photographic studio and darkroom, fine arts studio, CAD/CAM lab, culinary arts kitchens and restaurant facility, 300-seat theater, laboratory theater, dental hygiene clinic, and child development center. The college has installed hundreds of personal computers in labs. The labs are open at night and on Saturdays so that students may work at their convenience. The Sidney Silverman Library and Learning Resources Center houses 140,000 volumes in general and reference collections.
