Second Term Folder

Your marking period folder should include all written assignments for the term, in chronological order; the summary paper outlined below should be the last item in the folder.

If any assignments are missing, they should be listed on a separate sheet of paper to begin the order; an honest, straightforward explanation of why any item may be missing is expected.

After compiling and reviewing your work, please address these questions in writing:

1) Convey in your most candid language your impression of the folder’s contents.

Does it demonstrate any improvement? (Please provide evidence.)

2) Evaluate your writing performance this term. (You are once again being asked to assess your work--no exceptions.) On what basis did you assess it (scale, standard)? Why?

3) Evaluate your classroom performance this term. (Once again, this is required of every student--no exceptions.) On what basis did you assess it (scale, standard)? Why?

4) Are there any other factors that you believe I should consider in trying to be fair

in marking your work, as well as consistent in holding everyone to the same standard? (One favorite category frequently appearing in discussions of the quality of individual work is what is termed effort. How does someone in my position determine this?)

The paper addressing these questions should be two pages, max., double-spaced, in 12-point Times font, and should appear as the last item in your term folder.
