
About Self-Study and Accreditation
Bergen Community College is accredited by the Middle States Association's Commission on Higher Education. The Commission on Higher Education is a regional accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation
Middle States accreditation is an assurance of overall quality and integrity, and an expression of confidence in our mission and goals, our performance, and our resources. Institutions seeking to maintain their accreditation must undergo a major self-study and peer review every ten years. Our 2005-2006 Self-Study will be an excellent opportunity for us to gauge how well we are fulfilling our mission with respect to the Middle States Association’s fourteen Standards of Excellence.
