Systems Administrator I
The System Administrator I is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
Responsibilities include installing, administering, maintaining and upgrading multiple mission-critical application Servers and providing technical assistance for the acquisition of new Networking hardware; supporting email systems, Internet and Intranet web services and network management platforms on enterprise-wide systems. Investigate and troubleshoot infrastructure related issues. Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Maintain user accounts, mailing lists and related systems; creating and maintaining documentation of all systems, applications and maintaining, administering and monitoring the backup solution; performs other duties as assigned.
Required: Associate's degree or training in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related technical field; or two years of related experience (four years preferred); or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience supporting systems, including Windows 2003/2008, LDAP, Exchange 2003/2010, FTP, Symantec Antivirus Server, EMC Documentum, UNIX, Symantec Netbackup, Active Directory, MS SharePoint (2010) and SQL Server (2005/2008). Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations. Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication and customer service skills required. Must be able to work with a diverse population. Periodic on-call availability and flexible work hours based upon project deliverables.
