The STEM grant has been awarded to
improve the quality of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
education for all students.
Through this grant, we have listed below our anticipated grant-funded
fellow position openings for Fall 2012.
Successful
candidates must be able to teach both day and evening classes, be committed to
assessing student success, learning outcomes, and assessment and development of
new programs/curricula. All positions
require excellent organizational and communication skills as well as
demonstrated scholarship and professional involvement. These positions are teaching
fellowships which also include participation in grant-related activities,
including, but not limited to, new program development, involvement in student
data collection and analysis and faculty-student mentorship.
The Lecturer position is a one semester, full-time, temporary appointment
with possibility of renewal. The salary
for Lecturers with a Master’s Degree is $19,307/semester and for those without
a Master’s Degree is $18,776/semester.
For all Lecturer positions teaching experience is preferred unless
otherwise noted.
Aviation (Job Code GL-AVIATION)
Required: Associate’s degree in Aeronautics or Business
related field; one year of flight experience required. The candidate must be
available to participate in the HSI STEM Grant activities, curriculum
development and assessment. Preferred: Recent graduates; Bilingual -
Spanish a plus.
Biology (Job Code
GL-BIO)
Required: Master's degree in Biology or closely related field; one
year of college level teaching experience. The candidate must be available to
participate in the HSI STEM Grant activities, curriculum development and
assessment. Preferred: Recent
graduates; Bilingual - Spanish or Korean a plus.
Chemistry (Job Code GL-CHEM)
Required: Master's degree in Chemistry or closely related field; one
year of college level teaching experience. The candidate must be available to
participate in the HSI STEM Grant activities, curriculum development and
assessment. Preferred: Recent
graduates; Bilingual - Spanish or Korean a plus.
Mathematics (Job Code GL-MATH)
Required: Master's degree in Mathematics or closely related field (with
at least 18 credits in Mathematics); one year of college level teaching
experience. The candidate must be available to participate in the HSI STEM
Grant activities, curriculum development and assessment. Preferred: Recent graduates;
Bilingual - Spanish or Korean a plus.
Physics (Job Code GL-PHYSICS)
Required: Master's degree in Physics or closely related field; one year
of college level teaching experience. The candidate must be available to
participate in the HSI STEM Grant activities, curriculum development and
assessment. Preferred: Recent
graduates; Bilingual - Spanish or Korean a plus.
