CHAIRPERSONS REPORT:
A.
Dr. Cronk announced that, after five years as Chair of
the Senate, he will not seek re-election. The Senate offered a hearty round of
applause for him.
B.
Dr. Cronk reported that Officers of the Senate met
with Vice Presidents Laughlin and Acting Vice President Tomko on the afternoon
of April 25 (The President was unable to be there.) The two items that were
discussed were:
1. 2005-2006 Tuesday Meeting Schedule. A copy will
be sent via email soon.
2. BCC Learning Outcomes Assessment Plan. This
will require more discussion, possibly with Department Heads and others.
III.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
A. Shared
Governance: Dr. Alan Kaufman reported that this committee was
formed by the Senate Officers; the committee is consulting the following to
arrive at a definition of shared governance: articles written on shared
governance, the Officers statement, the BCC Constitution, and other colleges.
The committee plans to meet over the summer and make a draft, which they will
bring to the Senate for discussion.
B. General
