Abiquiu River Dance #3 This collage is a variation on a theme. Though not shown here, a thick white cloud cover that I pieced together in an earlier version, #1, has given way to more and more blue sky in versions #2 and #3 (below). The foreground landscape has stayed, nonetheless, the same. If "River Dance" seems reminiscent of other of my works, it's because it's a similar, yet wider, more expansive view of the sites in "Near Georgia's New Mexico" and "Georgia's New Mexico Too." Usually I title my pieces after they're finished. In this case, I wanted the river to wind and dance in the foreground, and so had a sense of the title before I began. |
