Title: Greens, Jeans, and InBetweens This New York scene is looking north to the Empire State building from a high floor of an apartment building on 23rd Street, between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue. The park is Madison Square Park. The photo shoot was three weeks before September 11th...but I created the image several months later, February 2002. In shooting it, and then later in putting the pieces together, I wanted the scene to be vibrant and full of life and growth. "Ground Zero" is south behind you as you're looking north at this image. The title is revealing: "Greens" for growth and renewal; "Jeans" for my daughter standing on the balcony in front of me as I shot the scene; and "InBetweens" for how it's all connected.
