Taking the Tests ONLINE!!

It’s Your Responsibility to take the Tests On-time, Not my Responsibility to remind you.

The tests (assessments) are clearly listed on the calendar. You can easily view the opening time AND, more importantly, the closing time.

You are college students studying business. Consider this one of your first lessons.

I offer on-line tests since it saves between 10 and 20% of the class time for discussion, presentation, and exchange of material. A much better use of our valuable time!

Some students inevitably believe that when they forget to take a test, they can write me with unique and fascinating excuses. Let me fill you in on how WebCT is set up to assist me, and you, to eliminate these “excuses” before you embarrass yourself.

·        If you log on and get frozen out, Moodle shows this!!! I see it and can easily reset the test for you provided you notify me while the test is open. That’s why I strongly recommend NOT waiting to the deadline.

·        Moodle shows how often, and when you log on! I can clearly see if you rarely log on and then log on at the end of a test. I also see your specific usage for the entire semester.

·        Moodle shows me if you take the practice quizzes, read the material, and watch the video clips I supply! Students, who fail to log on to review material or take practice quizzes and then wait till the last minute for a test, are asking for problems.

·        Plagiarism and Cheating are Zero Tolerance Actions! Moodle allows for additional tools to identify such activities. IP addresses, times/locations of tests, answer recognition algorithms, etc. are a few of these tools.

I have been around a long time and have heard just about every excuse there is under the sun. Don’t embarrass yourself by fabricating the excuses that I can EASILY check. You are adult college students studying Business. My suggestion is to take the truly unique approach of spending you time and effort on learning the material rather than ways to avoid it. Following the course policy and guidelines and taking the test well before the absolute deadline is the best way to proceed.
