Mark Ensslin was born in Hoboken, NJ in 1954 and raised with a strict Irish Catholic upbringing. He became a policeman in 1976 rising to the rank of sergeant in 1986. He became disabled in 1987. He started to take classes in photography in 1992 and continues to do so today. He has a Master's degree in visual arts from William Paterson University. He lives and works in Bergen County, NJ and has recently held a solo exhibition at the Paterson Museum, Paterson , NJ
