Textbooks/Supplies/Resources: · We will make extensive use of a set of online tutorials (freely available at http://multimedia.journalism.berkeley.edu/tutorials/ · 4GB (or larger) USB flash drive (multimedia projects can be VERY large!). · Headphones. Do NOT purchase this item till we have had a chance to discuss what is needed in class. Suitable equipment can be obtained for very moderate cost ($10-$20). You may already own a set of headphones that will work fine (bring them in and let's try them out!). · This course is Moodle supported. Exams, quizzes and assignments will be submitted electronically. |
|
|
Software. We will use a variety of software packages in this course. Which particular packages you use depends on the particular projects you select. |
|
|
Assessment. Two exams, quizzes, class work/homework and a final project will be used to assess your progress in this course. |

Quizzes
and Tests.
Each of the two exams consists of a web-based multiple-choice exam (usually
about 50-60 questions) and a hands-on skills test. All quizzes are
web-based and extra-credit and will be based upon lectures, labs and/or
reading assignments. At the end of the term, an overall quiz average
will be calculated, divided by 20 and added to your overall grade
average. Thus, extra-credit quizzes can add as much as 5% to your
overall grade. Please note the windows of time during which tests and
quizzes are open (available in Moodle). |
