How to Search
the Wall Street Journal
In the Sidney
Silverman Library's resources there are at least three ways to search
for information in the Wall Street Journal:
1. From the Library's homepage www.bergen.edu/library click on
Newspapers, a link under Find Articles/Electronic
Resources.
a. Click
on the Wall Street Journal.
b. Type
the subject/keyword in the Basic Search box.
c. Advanced
Search allows for limiting to company name, NAICS code and other variables.
d. Click here
for a short demonstration.
2. To search the Wall Street Journal
along with other business publications, go to the Full List of
Databases link and click on ABI/Inform Complete.
a. Type
the subject/keyword in the Basic Search box.
b. Tabs
allow you to sort results by type of publication: scholarly journals,
magazines, trade publications or newspapers.
c. Advanced Search allows for limiting
to company name, NAICS code and other variables.
d. Click here for a
short demonstration.
3. To retrieve specific articles from
the Wall Street Journal, ones that you have the citation for
or at least the date, go to the Journal Titles List on the
Library's homepage and type in Wall Street Journal.
a. When
the list appears, click on the database name, ABI/Inform Complete.
This will bring up a list of dates of the issues that are available.
b. Click
on the date you need and the list of the articles from that date
will appear.
c. Click
on the title and will you have the full article (without any images).
d. Click here for

Please note: If you are accessing the Sidney Silverman
Library's databases from a computer not on campus you will need to know
your seven digit Bergen identification number.
