Scholarship Information Benjamin A. Gilman
International Scholarship Program. Are you eligible for this scholarship? FREEMAN-ASIA The primary goal of the Freeman-ASIA
Program is to increase the number of American undergraduates who study in East and Southeast Asia, by providing students
with the information and financial assistance they will need. Awardees
will be expected to share their experiences with their home campus to
encourage study abroad by others, and to spread understanding of Asia in
their home communities. NATIONAL SECURITY EDUCATION PROGRAM (NSEP) was designed to
provide American undergraduates with the resources and encouragement they
need to acquire skills and experience in countries and areas of the world
critical to the future security of our nation. As a student of another
culture and language you will begin to acquire the international competence
you need to communicate effectively across borders, understand other
perspectives and analyze increasingly fluid economic and political realities.
This program was established by the National Security Education Act
of 1991, which created the National Security Education Board, the
National Security Education Program, and a trust fund in the U.S. Treasury to
provide resources for scholarships, fellowships and grants. It is guided by a
mission that seeks to lead in development of the national capacity to educate
U.S. citizens, understand foreign cultures, strengthen U.S. economic
competitiveness, and enhance international cooperation and security. FINANCIAL
