Title: Admissions Assistant (Part Time)

Description:

The Admissions Assistant performs highly specialized clerical work in the nursing admissions process and will be responsible for accurate processing of related admissions records.  Responsibilities will include but are not limited to inputting student admission data into an excel spreadsheet, Colleague and / or CRM, troubleshooting with problems or questions about required nursing admissions documents; conducting follow-up with student to assure that admissions documentation is complete; processing student records through different media such as hard copy applications, data imaging and electronic records; verifying correctness of information and proofs data for accuracy; operating computer terminal office equipment to input data on-line requiring accuracy in the updating and creation of files; scanning documents; referring students to supervisors and departments; performing additional tasks or duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

Required: High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year experience in skilled typewriting, keyboarding, data entry and general clerical work, preferably in a large office environment.  Must possess excellent customer service and telephone etiquette skills; must have knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint); must have ability to read and interpret documents such as college applications and transcripts; must possess a strong level of organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; must possess knowledge of basic math and budget procedures, office methods and procedures, as well as, a solid  understanding of English grammar and usage, business letter writing, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.  Must be able to handle inquiries of diverse and multicultural students and staff with sensitivity and diplomacy; must have ability to work in a fast-paced environment doing multiple tasks; must be a detail oriented, self-starter with ability to work independently and as a team in a collaborative manner; must have ability to exercise good judgment, as well as, ability to understand and follow established protocols.
