Title: STEM GPS Grant Coordinator - Grant-funded Position

Bergen Community College is looking to fill the open position of STEM GPS (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Graduation Pathways to Success) Grant Coordinator.  This US Department of Education HSI (Hispanic Serving Institution) STEM grant is finishing year three of a five year grant designed to increase the recruitment, retention and graduation of Bergen Community College students in the STEM fields.  The position is a full time, thirty five hour per week position with befits and the grant runs through October 31, 2016.  The Grant Coordinator will manage the execution of the five-year plan and budget and is charged with institutionalization of grant projects and coordinating the day to day operations of the grant.

Qualifications: Required:  BA or BS degree in STEM, Business or related field; One year of management experience; Experience working on a federal or state grant a plus.  Must have excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint); must exhibit strong skills in building customer and student focus, building relationships and planning; must possess a strong level of organizational,  interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; must be driven to provide excellent customer service with ability to handle inquiries of diverse and multicultural students, staff and faculty with sensitivity and diplomacy; must have ability to work in a fast-paced environment doing multiple tasks and projects while attending to the immediate needs of members of the campus community and demonstrates understanding of the community college mission and practices an open door policy; must be detail oriented self-starter, ability to work independently with little to no supervision and as a team in a collaborative manner; must have ability to exercise good judgment, as well as, ability to understand and follow established protocols.
