Title: Senior Financial Accountant (Finance)

Description:

The Senior Financial Accountant performs daily general ledger accounting, financial reporting and analysis; researches, analyzes and explains variances and resolves related inquiries. Will prepare periodic management reporting of financial results; execute statistical analysis of cash for solvency and accountability; evaluate policies and procedure, system enhancements to strengthen financial reporting processes; perform additional tasks and duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Required:  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of related experience; background with institution of higher education a strong plus.  Requires knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures in governmental agencies; Standardized Account Code Structure (SACS); use and application of online payroll/accounting systems; standard software applications related to financial applications; advanced accounting theory; principles and techniques of budget preparation, administration, statistical methods, technical writing, and related record keeping.  Must have intermediate proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite with advanced capabilities in Excel and familiarity with budget software; experience with Ellucian Collague preferred.    Must be a self-starter, able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision; must exhibit strong skills in customer & student focus, building relationships, organizing and planning; must possess a strong level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with ability to work with diverse population.
