Title: Manager, Bergen Community College Business Accelerator (Part Time)

The Manager of the Business Accelerator at the Meadowlands, has overall strategic operational and financial responsibilities for the success of the business accelerator (Accelerator) initiative located at Bergen Community College (BCC) at the Meadowlands.  The Manager contributes to the development and success of the Institute for Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship together with the Small Business Development Center by spearheading the continuous assessment and execution of the mission of the Accelerator which builds on the strengths of BCC, contributes to economic growth in the region by attracting new and emerging businesses and creating new higher paying jobs in the region.


Requirements:   A Masters’ degree in Business or Finance, or related degree is required. Business Start-up and/or Small Business consulting experience with a keen focus on customer service. Supervisory and/or mentoring experience highly desirable.  The candidate must have excellent leadership qualities as the primary representative of the College and Accelerator to public and private constituents. Additionally, have a thorough understanding of small business issues and/or experience in economic development with strong financial and analytical skills. Grant writing experience is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work and interact effectively with businesses, economic development agencies, venture capital providers, Angel Investors, chambers of commerce, SBDC, and regional personnel. Strong proficient computer skills and knowledgeable in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook is also required. 

The successful candidate will possess excellent customer service, organizational, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills, and will excel in written and verbal communication.  Able to implement continuous quality improvement in a customer focused environment. Ability to travel to various sites, events; must have access to transportation, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends will be required, in order to meet the administrative and operational needs of the program. S/he will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
