Title: ERP System Administrator

Description:

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides system development, information security, infrastructure and help desk support, among other services, to students, staff and faculty of Bergen Community College. Reporting to the Managing Director of Administrative Systems, the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System Administrator will maintain and ensure the reliable operation of the ERP systems, install upgrades, patches and enhancements, as well as, participate and coordinate the development and expansion of ERP systems’ capabilities.  Responsibilities will include but are not limited to installing and testing application, patching upgrades and/or configuration changes to provide a stable and reliable operational environment; enhancing and monitoring backup and recovery procedures, in coordination with ITS staff; monitoring system performance and error / problem notifications; performing and improving daily, weekly, monthly and semester maintenance procedures; providing recommendations to achieve improved system performance; providing input and direction to ITS staff and to the college as a whole relating to impact and risk of system modifications; establishing  technical and implementation standards to ensure the long-term, cost effective management and support of The ERP systems; investigating and responding to user reported problems; monitoring vendor notifications for upgrades, patches and security alerts; maintaining system and individual security and access; ensuring conformity across Environments – production, test and development; performing related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:  Bachelors degree in a business/computer related field or equivalent experience is required; 1+ years recent experience as an ERP System Administrator is required; experience implementing ERP system updates with minimal impact to end users is required; strong written and oral communication skills for both technical and non-technical audience is required.  2+ years experience as an ERP System Administrator is preferred; Ellucian / Datatel Colleague System Administration experience is preferred; knowledge of the Colleague Software development Environment including Colleague Studio is preferred; Ellucian Web Advisor or Self Service administration is preferred; Unidata and / or SQL Server administration is preferred; working knowledge of HP-UX is preferred; knowledge of Unix system administration is preferred; knowledge of Windows server administration is preferred; knowledge of Unix command shell scripting and/or PowerShell is preferred.  Must be highly organized and possess excellent analytical skills to develop technical solutions for business problems.  Must be self-motivated, proactive, team oriented and possess solid interpersonal and collaboration skills.
