Study Areas

The Library strives to maintain an atmosphere conducive to study and research. A variety of study areas are available on the Main and Upper Floors.

Main Floor

Quiet group study is permitted in all areas on the main floor. Group Study Rooms are located on the main floor of the Library and are reserved for groups of 3-8 BCC students engaged in course-related work.

To use a Group Study room:

    • Check out a Study Room key at the Service Desk.
    • Display the time-due card in the window of the group study room.
    • At the end of the 2-hour loan period, return the time-due card and key promptly to the Service Desk.
    • Rooms may be renewed if there is at least one other unused room.
    • Leave the room clean and in good order for the next group. Food is not permitted in the Study rooms. Disruptive behavior or failure to follow guidelines will result in the loss of borrowing privileges.

Upper Floor

Tables and study carrels are available for quiet study. Little or no talking.

Silent Study Rooms are located on the Library Upper Floor. These rooms are for the convenience of BCC students who wish to study in a sound-free environment. No speaking is permitted. The study carrels are available on a first come basis.
