Current Scholarship Offerings

Financial Literacy PSA Contest

Are you a person who understands the importance of managing your money responsibly?
If you are, the Bergen Community College Foundation invites you to compete for a scholarship. The Foundation, with a gift from NVE Bank, will offer $5,000 in up to five scholarships to students who produce the most original 30-to 45-second public service announcements demonstrating financial literacy.

Thank you for your submissions!  The application deadline has passed.  Contest winners will be notified the week of April 7, 2014.

 

Wieland & Dill Sustainability Scholarship

This award was established to recognize students who currently demonstrate the principles of sustainability here at Bergen Community College through their various work, i.e. recycling, composting, etc. This application is open to all currently enrolled BCC students.  Applicants may be new or continuing students who are enrolled full-time or part-time.

Empowering Women Thru Motion Scholarship

This essay-based award is to be provided to a woman of 25 years or older who seeks to enter a new chapter in her life. She should be committed to her total wellness from physical activity and higher learning to personal growth. Above all, she should seek to empower herself in life today and every day. Bergen County residency is not required. Applicants must exhibit financial need and be currently enrolled as BCC students.

Ena “Po-Po” Lue Scholarship

This award is provided to a female community member or student who exhibits the need to return to school for additional training and education in order to secure employment. This $500 scholarship can be used for Continuing Education or a degree program at Bergen Community College. This is an essay based competition, with submissions of 500 words or less. Candidates must exhibit financial need and describe employment goals. Bergen County residency is NOT required.

Fall 2014-Spring 2015 General Scholarship Application

Thank you for your submissions! 

The fall 2014-Spring 2015 General Scholarship Application period is now closed.  Scholarship recipients will be notified by no later than April 4, 2014.  The award ceremony will be held on April 22, 2014 from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. 

If you did not get a chance to apply this semester, another application will be available in August 2014 for the Spring/Summer 2015 Scholarship application, and awarded in December 2014.  Applications will be available here or you may pick up a scholarship application from room L-340, the Foundation Office.
