BCCFA General Membership Meeting
Minutes of Meeting of
September 6, 2005
2:40-3:40 pm
BCC Main Theatre
Quorum Present
1. The meeting was called to order at 2:45 pm by BCCFA
Treasurer Laurie Hodge.
2. The minutes of the meeting of April 26, 2005, were approved
without objection.
3. Peggy O’Neil made a call for donations to a Hurricane
Katrina fund.
4. George Cronk gave a report on the negotiations on hybrid courses,
and reported that an agreement has been reached with the administration and
that it is being put into writing.
5. Peter Helff reported on an executive committee proposal to
incorporate the Ciarco Learning Center NJEA affiliate into the BCCFA. A motion in favor of this proposal was passed
by the membership in a voice vote.
6. Peter Helff then spoke briefly about health benefits and
introduced Dennis Testa, who spoke about New Jersey Health Benefits for retired employees. He spoke of potential dangers to the system
as State Legislators are looking at these benefits more and more as an entitlement
rather than as benefits that have been earned by people through their years of
service. He asked for support in his bid
to be elected to the New Jersey State Assembly from the Thirty-Ninth District,
stating that he was running to protect these benefits.
7. Laurie Hodge gave a report on the new BCCFA dues
structure, and answered several questions.
8. The meeting was adjourned at 3:40 pm.
