Minutes of Meeting of March 2, 2004 (Room C-319)

BCCFA Executive Committee Officers Present: Peter Helff, President; Denise Jerman, Vice President; Alan Kaufman, Treasurer; George Cronk, Secretary

1. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Kevin Sullivan at 2:40 PM.
2. The minutes of the meeting of December 2, 2003, were reviewed and approved by voice vote.
3. Report on contract negotiations (Peter Helff). Settlement is in the offing. It will probably be finalized on March 10, when the College and BCCFA negotiating teams are scheduled to meet again. A general meeting of the BCCFA (to include a ratification vote) should/will be scheduled in mid to late March.
4. Alan Kaufman reported on the importance of BCCFA members’ attendance at the BCC Board of Trustees meeting on March 3.
5. College calendar issues were discussed, especially the administrative proposal that, in fall 2004, fall 2005, and fall 2006, the Adjunct Faculty Conference be held on the evening of August 31. There was vigorous discussion on this and other calendar issues. George Cronk emphasized that the various concerns addressed would be taken up at the Senate Executive Committee’s meeting with President Winn, VP Levinson, and VP Laughlin on March 16.
6. The meeting was adjourned at 3:40 PM.
