Culinary Certificate Program for High School Students

Program Description

This certificate program for high school students emphasizes detailed professional preparation methods and techniques, and laboratory preparation and presentation of both hot and cold foods. The classes consist primarily of hands-on preparation of foods especially suited to the commercial and institutional foodservices. Demonstrations are given during most classes.

Class Schedule

  • Classes meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Classes begin: July 1, 2014
  • Classes end: July 31, 2014


Tuition for the Summer Culinary Certificate for High School Students is $700. This does not include the student’s uniform and textbook, which are sold separately.

Class Materials

Upon registration, a Laboratory Manual and uniform (apron, head cover, BCC t-shirt) will be reserved for the student at the Bergen Community College Bookstore. Students should pick up their materials before the first day of classes on July 1, 2014.

Students are required to report to class in full uniform, and bring a notebook, pencil, and calculator to class in addition to their Laboratory Manual.

All students and parents/guardians must review the guidelines and code of conduct. You must attest to reviewing and agree to abide by these guidelines and the code of conduct by signing the appropriate portion of the registration form.


  1. Print the registration form. Click Here for the form.
  2. Complete both pages of the form, providing all information requested in legible print. Incomplete forms will not be processed. Please remember to include student’s t-shirt size on the first page so a uniform can be reserved.
  3. Fax, mail, or drop off COMPLETED registration forms and tuition payment to the School of Continuing Education at Bergen Community College. The address appears on the Registration Form.

Tuition payment in full is due at the time of registration.

This program is subject to adequate enrollment. In the event of insufficient enrollment, the program will be canceled and tuition fees will be refunded or credited.

Refund Policy

To receive a full refund, a student must withdraw by June 17, 2014 by providing a withdrawal request in writing. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN THEREAFTER.
