Building a Successful Career in the Theatre

In this workshop Eric William Morris (Mama Mia) will be the speaker.Eric is an actor primarily based out of NYC. He has appeared in recurring roles for CBS's "Blue Bloods" and "Golden Boy". He has also performed on Broadway in Coram Boy and Mamma Mia! where he played the role of "Sky". He just finished work on the independent feature film Trust, Greed, Bullets and Bourbon produced by Ed Burns. Eric also frequently collaborates with musical theatre songwriter Joe Iconis; starring in the Drama Desk Nominated Bloodsong of Love (Ars Nova) and Iconis' song cycle Things to Ruin (2nd Stage, La Poisson Rouge, Zipper Factory). Other Television: "Law and Order", "Royal Pains", "As The World Turns". Off Broadway/Regional Theatre: The Last Goodbye (Dir. The Vice President of Artists & Repertoire at Epic records (signed Living Color, Matisyahu, Keb-mo, and many others) will be doing a video conference with Prof. Hank Bordowitz's Intro to Music Business class.

 The Distinguished Artist Workshops with Jerry Harrison and Ernie Brooks (BEAR 54)This workshop will highlight Harrison (The Moderns Lovers/The Talking Heads/Bear 54) and Brooks (The Modern Lovers/Bear 54) careers and take us through the various genres that have influenced them and informed their music, including, minimalism, proto-punk, new wave, and the "Down Town" sound of Arthur Russell." Students well be invited to perform with the band through experimental improvisation so bring instrument is highly encouraged!
