Keith Chu is associate professor of history & geography and academic department chair. He specializes in Medieval and Early Modern European history with a particular focus on the institutions, economy, and society of England and the Low Countries. His research and teaching interests also includes early American history, history of science, Western religious history, and modern Germany. He teaches courses in the honors college. Professor Chu has been awarded fellowships from the Nation Endowment for the Humanities, the Society for Historians of the Early American Republic, the United States Institute of Peace, and the Goethe-Institut. He has presented papers on the teaching of historical geography at the National Council for Geographic Education conferences. He was the founding director of the college’s Peace, Justice, and Reconciliation Center. Prof. Chu is engaged in projects involving new approaches to the study of history through geography, philosophy, and technology.
