Q:  What is a closed section?

A:   A closed (or full) section is a section of a course in which there are no available seats.

Q:  Can I register for a closed section of a course?

A:   Students are not permitted to register for closed sections.

 

Q:  Can an instructor sign me into a closed section of a course?

A:   Instructors do not have the authority to sign students into a closed section of a course.

 

Q:  What can I do if the section of a course for which I would like to register for is closed?

A:   Students should continually check Web Advisor for available seats in their chosen section.  Students should also consider adding themselves to the section’s waitlist.  If you are waitlisted, and a seat becomes available in your chosen section, you will be contacted by the college and given further instructions.

 

Q:  Can I attend or sit in a section of a course for which I am not registered?

A:   Students are not permitted to attend or sit in a section of a course without being registered for that particular section.  Instructors cannot give permission to a student to attend a section for which they are not registered.
