Dr. Mecca, of Leonia, joined the College’s board in 2012.  For the past 18 years, she has worked in various capacities at New Jersey City University in Jersey City, beginning as a graduate assistant in 1994.  In 1998, she began her current role as director of the Center for Teacher Preparation and Partnerships.  An active and frequenter presenter at academic conferences, Dr. Mecca has also published numerous articles on education and teaching.  She has also taught courses on politics and multiculturalism at NJCU.

Dr. Mecca remains an active member of various local boards – including the senior housing authority in Leonia.  Previously, she served for 13 years on the board of the Center for Food Action in Englewood.

She earned an A.A. from Becker College, a B.A. and M.A. from NJCU and an Ed.D. from Columbia Teacher’s College.
